Crown Prince announces the launch of the first Jordanian satellite

 

Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II announced on Monday the launch of the first mini-satellite.

"Thankfully, the first small Jordanian satellite from California was successfully launched in the United States," the Crown Prince said through his account on the ING website.

"Great efforts have been made by young Jordanians, and God willing, it will be a step that will open doors for Jordanian competencies in the field of satellite engineering and space travel."




A workshop about Global Partnership in Space Exploration and Innovation   

 

Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology for Western Asia Affiliated to the United Nations (RCSSTE), in cooperation with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), will host the Scientific Workshop on “Global Partnership in Space Exploration and Innovation " from 25-28 March 2019 at the Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology for Western Asia in Amman, Jordan .


The organizers will bring together local, regional and global scientists, engineers, educators, policy-and-decision makers and experts to discuss and develop thinking on global partnership in space exploration and innovation. The Workshop will include both strategic and capacity-building components and will aim to leverage and build upon the efforts of entities already collaborating on space exploration and innovation.

Space agencies in the Arab world

 Egyptian Space Agency

It is an Egyptian public economic body with a legal personality and following the President of the Republic. It was established by Law No. 3 of 2018. It aims to develop and transfer the science of space technology, its localization and development, and its own capacity to build satellites and launch them from Egyptian territory.

  Emirates Space Agency

The Emirates Space Agency is a federal body that organizes and develops the space sector in the United Arab Emirates by focusing on the development of national capabilities in space technology. The Agency contributes to the State's attainment of its objectives towards economic diversification and the consolidation of a knowledge-based economy.

  Algerian space agency

Is the agency responsible for the implementation of Algeria's national space program. The National Center for Space Technology in the city of Arzio in Oran is the specialized center in the field of space technology in Algeria. It is responsible for the preparation of the program, which responds to the different needs of national users through the development of water resources, agriculture, communications and transport.

  Tunisian Space Agency

A scientific association aimed at forming and training young people in the field of astronomy, space techniques and communication technology, with the aim of enriching the national arena with scientific research studies dealing with space science, astronomy and communication technology.


 Qatar Center for Space and Astronomy

Is a scientific center specialized in non-profit, which aims to spread astronomy and astronomy in the State of Qatar in all categories. The idea originated in 2005 by Sheikh Salman Bin Jabr Al-Thani, founder and owner of the project.
